Earlier this year the Food and Drug Administration recalled many brands of dog food, now some people are asking, "is the food I am feeding my dog safe?" Well, to answer that question, just look at the ingredient label. But what do you look for? How does that differ from the ingredients used in natural dog foods like Innova Dog Food? Lets look at exactly what those ingredients are by looking at their definitions.
"Meals" are usually not the freshest ingredients available that can be used to make dog food, they are rendered. This means that they have been boiled in extremely hot water. The water is used to rid the product of parasites, bacteria and other unwanted or harmful substances. Again, "meals" have been shown to be perfectly safe for your dog to eat. There are some people who think that "meals" don't provide good nutrients. The boiling water can change the nutrients or get rid of them all together. This means that your dog might not be getting the best nutrients available. Now how do these ingredients compare to what you might find in natural dog foods?
The meats used in natural dog foods are usually listed as chicken or turkey. The difference between these and "meals" or by-products is that the meats generally fresh. They have not been altered with chemicals or anything else, that's why they call them natural foods. Plus, since they are not boiled in water, the benefits are generally not lost. You will also find fruits and vegetable are being used in natural dog foods. The use of these add supplements that are good for your dog's health.
My dog is not just a dog but part of my family. If you want to help your dog live a long and healthy life, take the extra couple of seconds and look at what is in the food. More and more people are choosing to serve their dog natural food, like Innova Dog Food . Talk to your vet and find out what he recommends but don't just buy the first food that you run across.
